Dean’s Special Advisor on Career Initiatives
John R. DeRosa provides comprehensive career counseling to students and alumni while managing the law school’s job fair and on-campus recruiting program. He also dedicates a great deal of time to developing and maintaining relationships with the many employers that actively recruit at Cornell. In addition to his Career Services duties, Dean DeRosa provides personal and academic counseling to students and advises the law school’s many student organizations on financial and other matters. He also teaches a summer judicial externship course as an adjunct professor of law.
Dean DeRosa has been an active member of the National Association for Law Placement (“NALP”) since 1995. He currently serves on NALP’s Ethics and Standards Advisory Group, a group which addresses recruiting-related issues including sexual harassment prevention. He has also served as Vice Chair of NALP’s Emerging Legal Jobs Working Group as well as on the NALP Nominating and Annual Conference Planning committees. Dean DeRosa has also served as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools’ Section on Student Services. On the Cornell University campus, Dean DeRosa has served as a crisis manager as well as a member of the University’s Hearing and Review Board, the Council on Mental Health and Welfare and the Student Disability Services Advisory Committee. He practiced corporate law in New York City from 1992 to 1995 while a member of the New York and New Jersey bars. He graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn Law School and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
Director of Recruiting Programs & Administration
Lyndsey received her undergraduate degree in 2006 from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University in Animal Science with a minor in Communications. She then graduated with a Masters degree in Student Personnel Administration in Higher Education from Springfield College in 2010. While career services is her focus and passion Lyndsey’s professional experience and knowledge includes working in a number of different areas of higher education including student activities, judicial affairs, admissions, registration, and financial aid.
